University of Memphis March Update

  • Junior Preview Day: Our spring preview day for juniors is set for Saturday, April 16th, and students will receive invitations in mid-March. Please have your juniors sign up to become a True Blue Tiger to make sure they receive their invitation to the event and other important reminders and information about the UofM.

  • Living on Campus: Students can now apply live on campus for fall 2016. Centennial Place opened in January and features 24 student apartments and 300 single and double occupancy rooms, and our Helen Hardin Honors Students have the opportunity to live in our LLC- Honors and Scholars Housing. Additionally, a number of Living Learning Communities are available for students who want to experience the conventional residential experience with support from faculty, integrated resources from sponsoring departments, and a 360-degree approach to student learning.

  • New Student Orientation: Class of 2016 students must confirm their enrollment to the U of M by signing up for New Student Orientation. The orientation program is mandatory for all incoming freshmen and includes informative presentations from administrators and faculty members, small group discussions, academic advising, and course registration. Students will receive information on how to sign up for New Student Orientation by April 1st!

  • Campus Tours: The University of Memphis offers campus tours each weekday at 9:30am & 1:30pm, and the tours continue throughout the summer months. Touring campus is the best way for students to know if a university is right for them! Students can sign up online or by calling (901) 678-2169. Tours of our Lambuth campus in Jackson, TN are available each weekday at 1:30 p.m. or by appointment, and reservations can be made by visiting their web site or calling (731) 425-1964.

  • St. Jude Up ‘til Dawn: The UofM started Up’ til Dawn 18 years ago, and it has now spread to over 250 schools nationwide. At the 2015 event, our students raised $206,811 making it the largest ever collegiate fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This year’s event is set for March 18, 2016, and our students are projected to pass last year’s fundraising total. Go Tigers Go!

  • Doing is Maintaining: The University of Memphis is committed to sustainability, and our faculty and students are conducting interdisciplinary research that will assure an endless supply of high-quality drinking water for our communities now and in the future. Check out our video that demonstrates our passion for this important initiative.
