CBU has an exciting new scholarship opportunity this year!

Christian Brothers University has an exciting new scholarship program this year! The Pascal Fellowship in Computer Science and Mathematics sponsored by FedEx is an excellent opportunity for your brightest students to not only receive scholarship money, but also have fellowship opportunities at top notch companies in the Mid-South. Students do not have to solely be Computer Science majors, they are welcome to double major in any other area.

Univeristy of Memphis Update

 Below you will find updates regarding the University of Memphis.


Merit-Based Scholarship Awards: Students who have been awarded merit-based scholarships should receive official scholarship offers from us this week. Our Merit-Based Scholarships include our Cecil C. Humphreys Presidential Scholarship, Provost Scholarships and Dean’s Scholarship. For priority scholarship consideration, students must have been admitted to the UofM by December 1st.

Emerging Leaders and First Scholars Scholarships: These scholarships require separate applications and have a deadline of February 1st.  The Emerging Leaders scholarship is awarded to a limited number of students with demonstrated leadership backgrounds and interest in leadership development programs. A comprehensive application and interview is required, and the scholarship award is $5,500 per year. The First Scholars scholarship is awarded to a limited number of first-generation college students whose parents have no education beyond two years of college. A separate application and student’s FAFSA must be completed by February 1, and the scholarship award is $5,000 per year. Students receiving both the Emerging Leaders and First Scholars scholarships are required to live on campus in designated residence halls as freshmen.

Tiger Scholarship Manager: New and current students are encouraged to apply for private and departmental scholarships through the Tiger Scholarship Manager. The deadline to apply for fall 2016 awards is February 1st.

Living on Campus: Students can apply beginning February 1st to live on campus for fall 2016. Centennial Place opened just last week and features 24 student apartments and 300 single and double occupancy rooms, and our Helen Hardin Honors Students have the opportunity to live in our LLC- Honors and Scholars Housing. Additionally, a number of Living Learning Communities are available for students who want to experience the conventional residential experience with support from faculty, integrated resources from sponsoring departments, and a 360-degree approach to student learning.

Campus Tours: The University of Memphis offers campus tours each weekday at 9:30am & 1:30pm. Touring campus is the best way for students to know if a university is right for them! Students can sign up online or by calling (901) 678-2169. Tours of our Lambuth campus in Jackson, TN are available each weekday at 9:30am or by appointment, and reservations can be made by visiting their web site or calling (731) 425-1964.

Thanks so much for your time and attention last night! Please be reminded that the FAFSFA and MS Financial Aid applications are now available. We will be coming for FAFSA Days on February 5th and 11th to assist you with these applications. If you want more information before these dates or would like to get a jumpstart on the applications, you can set an appointment with us now at out office.  We invite you to set a general Financial Aid session to discuss financial options in more detail or a FAFSA appointment to begin the applications. Applicant Eligibility Criteria
  1.  Be graduating high school senior or graduating from a home school education in the U.S.
  2. Plan to enroll part-time or full-time without interruption for the entire 2016-2017 academic year at a accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school in the U.S. 
  3. Have a minimum grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale 
  4. be a resident of the U.S.

  • Must be a high school graduating senior, active in church, school and community organizations.
  • Must have a "B" average or higher.
  • SAT cumulative score of 1050 in math and writing or ACT cumulative score of 22 in math, English or science.
  • Must write a 250-word essay entitled, "How I will use my education to bless others".
  • Submit three letters of recommendation from non-family members: pastor, teacher and community person.
  • These are one time awards.
  • Each recipient is eligible for an award of up to $1000 contingent upon maintaining a "B" average or 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be enrolled at an accredited college, university or vocational school.
  • Awards are based on financial need and scholastic ability.
  • Submit W-2 or FAFSA Form.
  • Submit photo.

Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program at Univeristy of Mississippi

The Mississippi Excellence in Teaching Program (METP) at the University of Mississippi is continuing to accept applications for our secondary deadline, March 4, 2016. METP offers the most valuable education scholarship ever offered in Mississippi and is designed to offer full scholarships for top performing students who want to become secondary math or English teachers. Our hope is that you will encourage qualified students to apply for this outstanding opportunity.
