Univeristy of Memphis Update

Below you will find updates regarding the University of Memphis.

Merit-Based Scholarship Awards: Students who have been awarded merit-based scholarships should receive official scholarship offers from us this week. Our Merit-Based Scholarships include our Cecil C. Humphreys Presidential Scholarship, Provost Scholarships and Dean’s Scholarship. For priority scholarship consideration, students must have been admitted to the UofM by December 1st.

Emerging Leaders and First Scholars Scholarships: These scholarships require separate applications and have a deadline of February 1st.  The Emerging Leaders scholarship is awarded to a limited number of students with demonstrated leadership backgrounds and interest in leadership development programs. A comprehensive application and interview is required, and the scholarship award is $5,500 per year. The First Scholars scholarship is awarded to a limited number of first-generation college students whose parents have no education beyond two years of college. A separate application and student’s FAFSA must be completed by February 1, and the scholarship award is $5,000 per year. Students receiving both the Emerging Leaders and First Scholars scholarships are required to live on campus in designated residence halls as freshmen.

Tiger Scholarship Manager: New and current students are encouraged to apply for private and departmental scholarships through the Tiger Scholarship Manager. The deadline to apply for fall 2016 awards is February 1st.

Living on Campus: Students can apply beginning February 1st to live on campus for fall 2016. Centennial Place opened just last week and features 24 student apartments and 300 single and double occupancy rooms, and our Helen Hardin Honors Students have the opportunity to live in our LLC- Honors and Scholars Housing.
