James B. Collins Memorial Scholarship
Requirements
· Applicant must be a graduating high
school senior in the final half of his/her school year, or a high school graduate
within six months of the application deadline.
· Applicant must aspire to attend an
institution of higher learning.
· Applicant must have a financial
need.
· Applicant must have an academic
grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
· Applicant must have provided service
to his/her community.
·
Application must
be submitted on the current JBCMF
Scholarship Form. Incomplete applications
or submissions that do not follow the submission criteria will not be processed
or considered for evaluation.
· Applicant must include two letters
of recommendation from: (1) high school principal, academic dean, or guidance
counselor and (2) a high school teacher.
· Applicant must include documentation
of grade point average, SAT and/or ACT scores.
· Applicant may attach any
documentation of leadership honors and/or community service recognition.
· Applicant may attach documentation
evidencing any advanced placement or college level courses.
Deadline
JBCMF must receive
applications in its Post Office Box no later than January 30, 2016 to be
considered by the selection panel. No exceptions to this deadline will be
allowed. Any incomplete applications or applications received after this date
will not be considered for selection. No applications by fax or e-mail
transmission will be accepted.

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY EMPLOYEE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Students with an immediate relative (parent, stepparent, grandparents, step-grandparent, legal guardian or spouse) currently working for or retired from a Mississippi county are eligible to apply.
For the 2015-2016 school year, MAS will award up to two $500 scholarships per county!

Homecoming 2015- Let the Good Times ROAR!” We have many reasons to celebrate at Homecoming this year, including cheering on our nationally-ranked football team as we take on the Navy Midshipman for the first time in our program’s history. The homecoming game is set for Saturday, November 7, and we have many festivities surrounding the game including a parade and pep rally on Friday, November 6. Students can sign up online or by calling (901) 678-2169. Tours of our Lambuth campus in Jackson, TN are available each weekday at 9:30am or by appointment, and reservations can be made by visiting their web site or calling (731) 425-1964.
Merit-Based Scholarships: Our admissions deadline for priority scholarship consideration remains December 1st this year, and students may qualify with a minimum ACT score of 25 and GPA of 3.0. To be eligible for our merit-based scholarships, students must have applied and been admitted by the December 1st deadline. For full scholarship details visit the Scholarship web site.
Emerging Leaders and First Scholars Scholarships: These scholarships require separate applications and have a deadline of February 1st. The Emerging Leaders scholarship is awarded to a limited number of students with demonstrated leadership backgrounds and interest in leadership development programs. A comprehensive application and interview is required, and the scholarship award is $5,500 per year. The First Scholars scholarship is awarded to a limited number of first-generation college students whose parents have no education beyond two years of college. A separate application and student’s FAFSA must be completed by February 1, and the scholarship award is $5,000 per year. Students receiving both the Emerging Leaders and First Scholars scholarships are required to live on campus in designated residence halls as freshmen.

The UofM is ranked fifth in the category of service staff, courses, and financial support. The College of Nursing at "The W" will be hosting two Navigating Nursing Days for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in learning more about a career in nursing. FALL PREVIEW DAY

Fall Visit Day is designed to give visitors a chance to learn what The
University of Mississippi is really like directly from faculty and
currently enrolled students. An academic browse fair, tours of the
campus and residence halls, and sessions on admissions and financial aid
are offered. There will NOT be a football game on campus this day.
Please note that this is a larger visit program.

University of Memphis College Preview Days
September 26 -- October 3
University of Memphis will be offering two preview days this fall. To make reservations visit the website or call (901) 678-2169. The University also offers campus tours daily for students, they are available at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. To schedule a tour, students can sign up online or call (901) 678-2169.
The scholarship deadline for the 2016-2017 school year at the University of Memphis is December 1, and students may qualify with a minimum ACT score of 25 and a GPA of 3.0. Full scholarship information is available here.

MSU Fall Preview Day 2015
OCTOBER 12 -- OCTOBER 26 -- NOVEMBER 9
Mississippi State University is offering three preview days to choose from this year, October 12, 2015, October 26, 2015, or November 9, 2015. The events are geared towards high school seniors and involves spending an entire day on their campus to see what a day in the life of a bulldog is all about. You will have the chance to hear from academic representatives, check out the residence halls, and see the Sanderson Center, and eat lunch alongside current MSU students. The fee for the this event is $10 a person, which includes a t-shirt, lunch, and MSU ice cream. Registration opens on September 11, 2015 but space will be limited.2015/07/20
9th Annual Create-A-Greeting-Card $10,000 Scholarship Contest
Entrants just need to to to our website and submit a unique photo, piece of artwork, or computer graphic for the front of a greeting card. The entrant with the best design will win a $10,000 scholarship and have his/her design made into an actual card to be sold in The Gallery Collection's line.
